Double Success in Ray Jordan's Top 100 Reds 2020

We are delighted to have 2 wines featured in Ray Jordan's 2020 Top 100 Red Wines.

2018 BDX Malbec Cabernet Petit Verdot
"The best example of this wine yet released. Deep and vibrant bright colours. The palate is deep and concentrated yet there is poise and balance, which carries the wine to a very long stylish finish. Has a neat tannin thread to hold it all together." Score: 94/100

2017 Rocky Road Cabernet Merlot
"Beautiful fragrant fruit with violets and black olive and plum. There is a fine minerality here that adds to the precision on the palate. Excellent older oak integration. Fine and long with chalky tannins." Score 92/100

So how are the wines chosen?
Just as would be the case in national wine shows, the wines are assessed based on normal quiality criteria but then the aim is to ensure different varieties and styles are represented in the final list to cater for different tastes. Ray said:"One thing I can gaurantee, is that this year's top 100 is the equal of any I have put together in all the years I have been conducting this tasting".
