2022 Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay - Triumphs at WA Good Food Guide Awards

We are thrilled to share some incredible news with you!

The 2022 Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay has achieved remarkable success at the WA Good Food Guide Wine Awards, held just last night. We are elated to announce that it not only took home three prestigious awards but also secured the coveted number 2 spot in the Top 25!

Our 2022 Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay received the following accolades:

  • Best Single Vineyard Wine
  • Best Certified Organic or Biodynamic Wine
  • Regional Award Winner: Best Margaret River Wine

From the moment our founder, Murray McHenry, selected the Hazel's Vineyard site in 1998, to the unwavering commitment of our viticultural team to regenerative agriculture, and the meticulous attention to detail by our winemaking team led by Japo Dalli Cani, all of these elements have contributed to the creation of this extraordinary wine and the recognition it has received. We are truly humbled and honored by these achievements.

The Top 25 - No. 2

2022 Hazels Vineyard Chardonnay

A nod to Jura here perhaps, with saline notes, nuts, faint fino sherry characters and green apple. To go with it, there’s good length and depth of flavour, and although there’s intensity, there’s balance. Throughout, you can sense a clear focus on chardonnay staying the hero, with a goal to maximise the intensity of flavour and support it with freshness and interest. A brilliant wine.

Best Single Vineyard Wine

McHenry Hohnen takes out this honour with the stellar Hazel’s Chardonnay from the distinguished Hazel’s Vineyard.

Best Certified Organic or Biodynamic Wine

Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay: It’s a wine that stands out from the crowd and is evidently grown and made from vines that have been cared for with detail.

Regional Award Winner: Best Margaret River Wine

Hazel's Vineyard Chardonnay: A wonderful interpretation of Margaret River’s famed white grape asset.
