Ever wondered about the story behind the bottle? Its often a decades long journey.

From site selection and planting through to barrel aging, patience is a requirement.

But during harvest its game on!

Here’s a slice of life at Hazel’s Vineyard from earlier this year.

A word from our Founder

I’ve had the good fortune to be involved with both Australian Rules Football and premium viticulture in Western Australia for over 35 years. Looking back, my first grape harvest at Burnside Vineyard coincided with me joining West Coast as we sought to expand the VFL into a national competition. Over the following decades I’ve had the honour of chairing the club and assisting where I can as a board member. It is a delight to be able to bring together these two passions together for 2023 and beyond.

Since its inception McHenry Hohnen Vintners has had an unwavering focus on crafting site expressive wines. Grapes are sourced from our family’s three vineyards, all located in the southern part of the Margaret River Wine Region: Hazel’s - our home vineyard, biodynamic farm and winery; Calgardup Brook - planted with good friend and footy great Brian Seirakowski in 1994; and Burnside - one of the founding Chardonnay vineyards in the region.

Whilst the story of McHenry Hohnen is steeped in the history of the region, we look to the future with anticipation as our soil, vines and wines continue to evolve. We invite you to join us on that journey.
