Love the earth - Love organic - Drink our Apiary Block Chardonnay....

Japo & Apiary Chardonnay

We are you sure you have tried Margaret River chardonnay but have you tried our Apiary Block Chardonnay?

What some might refer to as a 'natural wine'  this is a pure and raw expression of place free from wine making manipulation and artefact. Made by instinct and gut feeling, this wine is from a tiny parcel on a north facing slope with fantastic exposure to the sunlight and blessed by cooling breezes at night. A block that we consider unique and a true expression of Southern Margaret River Chardonnay.

Hand picked from 100% biodynamic vines and whole bunch pressed straight into a concrete egg vessel with out any sulphar addition. The juice underwent wild yeast and full malo-lactic fermentation and was left on full lees for 10 months. Moved only once in the winery the day before being bottled without any sulphur, fining or filtration.

Press play to hear more about this unique wine!

Enjoy!

This Apiary was created with a desire to produce a wine with pure expression of vineyard and draws its name from beehives perched atop our biodynamically farmed Hazel’s vineyard in southern Margaret River.

Fresh and nutty aromas, just-ripe nectarine, green melon and nettles. A very fruit-driven palate, white stone fruit, grapefruit, a touch of grilled nuts and vanilla. The acidity is high toned, fresh and crunchy.

Dottted between our vines, olive trees, pastures and chicken coops you will find Murray's bee hives.. The plants that grow around grapevines are crucial for a healthy vine environment, and they do need bees to pollinate them. Bees are the primary pollinators of several cover crops planted within the vineyard.
